We visited Mercara Gold Estate Coffee Plantation with our family and had a truly wonderful experience. Mr. Salim personally guided us through the entire plantation and explained everything in a very engaging and easy-to-understand manner. He covered the different varieties of coffee and spices grown on the estate, the complete coffee-making process, the coffee museum, and even how chocolates are made. The walk through the lush plantation was peaceful and informative at the same time. We visited the estate on weekday, not crowded, no booking required. You get the guided tour with 7-10 people, the guide really made it interesting by interacting rather than just giving out the information. We took the chochlate factory tour as well, and it took around 1 hr. The estate is beautiful with coffee and spice Plantation. Museums are well maintained. Just a brilliant experience at this special estate. We booked the coffee, spice, chocolate & meal tour. The end2end duration about 3.5hrs as we took our time and had numerous questions that was well answered. If any of the above is of interest, then I throughly recommend the tour. We had an amazing experience at Mercara Estate. They offer two distinct packages—an informative estate walk with coffee tasting, and a fascinating deep dive into the chocolate-making process. While the tours are excellent, the true highlight is the lunch menu. The local Kodava cuisine (with both veg and non-veg options) was exceptional and easily matched the quality of the estate tour.
