Scottsdale Bachelorette: Pool Day, Old Town Nights and When to Go

How to plan a Scottsdale bachelorette: choosing a day club or resort pool, Old Town nights, a sunrise hike, and which months work best for the heat.

Pick your dates around the heat

Scottsdale's average high is 69°F in January, 78°F in March and 105°F in July. If you want a pool day that feels good and a hike that doesn't need a 5 a.m. start, aim for the cooler months.

Summer has a trade-off. Resort rates can drop up to 60%, which helps a big group's budget. But at 105°F you'll want shade, water and a plan for the middle of the day.

Day club, resort pool or rental pool

A day club is the loudest choice. You get DJs, a reserved cabana and a crowd, and the day runs as a party. It suits a group that wants the pool to be the main event.

A resort pool is calmer. Many Scottsdale hotels have a good pool area, so you can keep the music at your own volume and ask about a cabana or daybed if you want shade. A rental house pool gives you privacy and your own playlist, but you handle food, drinks and cleanup yourselves.

If you pick a day club, reserve the cabana early. Our plan books it 4 to 8 weeks ahead for shade at Saturday peak, and booking early is sensible for any big group.

  • MAYA Day + NightDay club with DJs and shaded VIP cabanas for the pool-party option.

Make the pool day work in the sun

Drink water between cocktails. The sun is strong, and the group will feel it faster than expected.

Start the day early and keep the pool for the afternoon. The plan puts a sunrise hike first, then brunch, then the cabana at 1:00 p.m., so the hike happens before the heat and the pool time comes later with shade. For more on the venue, see the MAYA Day + Night page.

Old Town nights

Old Town's Entertainment District is one of its walkable districts, with nightclubs, bars, DJs and live bands. Bars cluster on N. Saddlebag Trail, so you can move between them on foot. More than 100 restaurants in Old Town make it easy to start with a proper group dinner.

Book a large table ahead for dinner, then walk to the bars. For the ride home, pre-book a van or two or three cars rather than hunting for one at closing time.

  • The Mission Old TownMoody Latin dinner with tableside guacamole; reserve a large table early.
  • Bottled Blonde - ScottsdaleEasy first stop in the walkable bar cluster, with music and dancing.
  • Riot House ScottsdaleHigh-energy Entertainment District finale for the big dancing night.

A sunrise hike or desert outing

Pinnacle Peak is a moderate 3.5-mile saguaro trail, best done before the heat. Plan on 1 to 2 liters of water each, plus electrolytes. The granite boulders glow at first light, which makes good photos.

Not everyone has to hike. For a group with mixed energy, a guided desert outing in the Sonoran Desert gives you a shared daytime activity that isn't another bar tab.

Getting around and a sample weekend

From Phoenix Sky Harbor to Old Town is about 20 minutes. Pre-book one 14-seat van so a big group stays together, since XL rideshares seat only 6.

Our day-by-day plan puts arrival, the LOVE sculpture and dinner on day one, the hike, brunch and cabana on day two, and an easy beach-club brunch before the van back on day three. Browse more in our Scottsdale guide, or compare with a Nashville weekend for groups of 10.

  • The MontaukSlow beach-club brunch to close the weekend; reserve a table for 10.

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time for a Scottsdale bachelorette?

Cooler months are easiest. The average high is 69°F in January and 78°F in March, versus 105°F in July. Summer has cheaper resort rates, but the heat limits how much you can do outdoors.

Is a day club worth it for a bachelorette?

If the group wants DJs and a party atmosphere, yes. Reserve a cabana for shade and book early. If you want a quieter day, a resort pool or rental pool is easier.

How far is Old Town from the Phoenix airport?

About 20 minutes by van. A pre-booked 14-seat van keeps a big group together, since XL rideshares seat only 6.

Do we need cars in Old Town?

Not for the Entertainment District, which is walkable. You will want a pre-booked van or a few cars for the ride home and for trailheads.
