Rifugio Garibaldi is fantastic because of its position and view. It can be reached from Malga Caldea (near Temù) in 3 or 4 hour walk through a quite simple road, that became harder at the end, after Benedetto Lake, in the part called "calvario" i.e. calvary. Don't be afraid of this part, because when you will be at the end you will be delighted by an awesome view of Mt. Adamello. From Rifugio Garibaldi you can reach Venerocolo Pass (2 h) and eventually Venerocolo Peak ( + 30 min). From the Pass you can see, and even touch, Pisgana glacier and from the peak you have an awesome view of the fantastic Pian di Neve, a huge glacial plateau culminating with Mt. Adamello. These pass and peak are probably the highest points (3136 m on the sea level and 3329 m on the sea level respectively) you can reach without special equipment, you only have to be a good hiker because the path between Rifugio Garibaldi and the peak is quite difficult (especially in the return). About Rifugio Garibaldi half board costs 50€ (dinner, night and breakfast) excluding beverage. If you don't have your bed sheets you have to buy a mono use bed sheet for 4.50 €. Dinner and breakfast are very well furnished. Dinner includes a first dish, a second dish and a dessert. Beverage is not included so you have to pay for it (for example one litre of red wine costs 9€), bread is included. For breakfast you can choose between tea, coffee or milk-coffee and you have a lot of bread, butter, jam and Nutella. You will surely be satiated.Adriano Minora
