We had an excellent dinner with wine paring at Guy Savoy. Everything from the meal, presentation, ambience, to service is exactly what you'd expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. We took our two kids (ages 10 and 7) there, and they were able to accommodate the menu and avoid seafood and nuts food allergy for my 7-year old. With the exception of one chicken terrine dish that was a bit on the dry side, all the other courses were excellent, and everyone in my family really had a good time there (including the kids!). I hope to be able to visit there again!Jen Y.

The experience at Guy Savoy it’s been very disappointing. We expected a world class experience, provided the restaurants claim to be among top 5 restaurants of the world. We start with the tasting menu, at 640 euro (for a 2 stars it’s hyper over priced). We could not engage it for dietary restrictions so we decide to go a la carte. We start with a complete lack of bread choice, and the bread given (see picture) it’s only 1 kind and according to Chef’s preference, it’s so hard that crust are left all over the place. We had to ask for a non burned one! They were all over cooked. Not a Michelin Star kinda service. The Chef’s star dish, the artichokes soupe, it looks it is served with preserved black truffle. In summer the nature produce amazing black summer truffle, from Italy to China you can find better quality that this one and probably serve it on the spot. The rest of the food is literally average. Creativity and presentation of the dishes is very 1990s. Both the Lobster and the “Blanquette” were served with poured sauces on top, leaving little chance to sense the real flavour of the meat and fish. The cheese trolley shows a very basic range of choice: only the flagship french cheese with little story telling are present, even with the exclusion of a Reblochon. 42 euros for a choice of 3/4 cheese, served with no condiments, honey, or decent bread. Espresso sold at 9 euros each (literally a Richard-style cafe’ allonge’) - at least, although we are in France, please serve a decent, proper espresso. That said, the total price for 1 entree shared in 2, 2 soups, 2 mains, 1 dessert, 1 cheese platter, 2 espresso : 1370 euro, with a single bottle of Champagne (priced at 370 euro) - a very good one though. Regarding service: Table cloth not even properly iron (see picture), choice of glasses for champagne literally average. Final desserts were rudely served. You can enjoy excellent 1 or 2 stars in other places - here you pay for a lost legendary name in French Cuisine. We’ve been in 1,2 and 3 Michelin Stars in Italy, in Hong Kong, in Japan and even in China: Guy Savoy is far from any of those placesMarco Galimberti
