The Tyrol Museum is located in a beautiful area surrounded by green hills and forest. Just walking around the place is enjoyable on its own. We learned that the museum is known for its ability to relocate old houses from other places and rebuild them on site. There are farmhouses from different periods, starting from the 15th century, with interior displays that explain the history (unfortunately only in German, so we couldn't understand). There was one cabin with a film explaining the early settlement of the region, which was very interesting. We had a great time — highly recommended for both adults and children.Danielle Keidar

It's a great place. We enjoyed exploring all the farmer Hauses and the nice walk in nature between them. It's very beautiful and also educational. Give yourself enough time to explore this gem (2h -3h at minimum) and stop by the restaurant later for a great mealPavlin “Simmol” Angelov

Staying in Alpbach this museum of Alpine life was a worthwhile bus journey to visit. Quiet when we were there at the end of the Summer season we had it pretty much to ourselves. Good Value and fun exhibits for all the family. Lots of photo opportunities to share as mementos. Easy to walk around and accessible for all. Friendly and informative visitor centre and happy to speak English and make you feel welcome. Good food is available as are clean toilets.Nigel Huxtable

This place is so amazing! We took a guided tour, which I would highly recommend. Our tour was about one hour, and there was more to see that wasn’t on the tour. There were examples of original Tyrolean farmhouses from the 1500s to the 1700s. You can walk inside most of the houses and see examples of kitchens, bedrooms, workshops, gathering areas, animal areas, and so much more! There is also beautiful scenery outside, including a mill, baking houses, springs, a vegetable garden and some lovely sheep with long tails. There’s also a pond. There’s a restaurant, which we didn’t visit but it looked charming. There’s also ample parking and clean restrooms. Highly recommend!Maya Erhardt
