The spot became famous after the 1992 Tamil movie Guna, starring Kamal Haasan, which is why it’s popularly known as Guna Cave. Its original name, given by the British, is Devil’s Kitchen. The recent popularity from the movie Manjummel Boys has attracted even more visitors. Even though the cave itself is not visible from the closed gates—due to overgrown forest leaves and grass—the viewpoint offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain ranges. The location is absolutely stunning. Do note that many sections are closed because the cave crevices are extremely deep and dangerous, and steel gates have been installed to prevent accidents.
