Our guide was excellent and we saw a lot of amazing animals. I wish it were more affordable, but it is definitely worth a visit if you are visiting Rwanda. I would definitely recommend hiring a guide, we got charged by a bull elephant and they handled it really well. They knew a lot about the park and the different animals. Incredible park, amazing story of restoration and conservation. The park has all the big 5, plus much more. The only big ticket items missing from the park were cheetah and wild dogs, but cheetah aren’t native to this area, and the wild dogs need a bigger protected area than the park can afford given the population density in Rwanda. Otherwise it’s an incredible park, and very well organized and managed, a huge success story. We stayed at Magashi wilderness camp, can’t recommend them enough for over night stays. We went end of October, weather was good, a passing rain shower in the afternoon, sunny or cloudy the rest of the time. Temps were warm during the day, cool at night. Tse tse flies were present in some areas but not bothersome or bad at any point. Don’t miss this incredible experience to safari in a country with the great ape experiences as well.Ryan Wilson
